Volunteer Day of Action a Big Success!
Dozens of volunteers across Pullman made a lasting impact in one powerful day.
On June 13, we hosted our first-ever Volunteer Day of Action, bringing together businesses, service clubs, families, and community members to support local nonprofits and public spaces with hands-on help. Together, they proved that when we live united, change happens.
Care in Every Corner
At the Pullman Community Garden, volunteers—led by Board Member Greg Umbright and College Hill’s Tiffany, our event sponsor—cleaned beds, laid mulch, and prepped plots for the growing season.
Teams from WSU’s Center for Civic Engagement and Walmart brightened Community Child Care Center’s second location with sparkling windows and freshly weeded landscaping.

Fresh Paint Making an Impact!
Step-in-up sponsor Inland Cellular brought a strong team. Along with independent volunteers, Edwin and Sarah tackled Family Promise of the Palouse's new location, bringing a welcoming facelift by painting over Greek insignias and creating a clean slate for future families.

Love of Reading on Full Display
At Neill Public Library, volunteers cleaned and sorted hundreds of children’s books. One especially creative teen volunteer added a splash of joy by painting colorful sidewalk art for the library’s Summer Reading kickoff.

Meter Group pitched in to prep the grounds for the Community Child Care Center’s annual BBQ at St. James.
Fueling the Effort
Walmart hosted a morning kickoff and generously supplied breakfast for all participants. Subway kept everyone going with a well-earned lunch at Kruegel Park.
