PHASE 40 & 41 FUNDING NOTICE
The United Way of Whitman County has announced funds are available from two grants totaling over $40,000 to reimburse entities for costs incurred to provide emergency food and shelter in Whitman County. The National Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) grant is funded with federal funds made available through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Funding available for Phase 40 Emergency Food and Shelter Program: $19,771
Funding available for Phase 41 Emergency Food and Shelter Program: $20,677
Phase 40 Begin Spend Date November 1, 2021.
The spending period's end date is December 31, 2024.
Final Report is due February 15, 2025. LROs’ Interim Report/Second Payment Requests due to National Board Not later than November 15, 2024
Phase 41 Spend Date Began October 1, 2022.
The spending period end date will be December 31, 2024.
The Final Report from awarded agencies is due February 15, 2025. LROs’ Interim Report/Second Payment Requests are due to the National Board no later than November 15, 2024
Eligible organizations may submit a program application(s) for Phase 40 and 41 with one or more spending category requests per grant application per program to the Local EFSP Board no later than 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2022.
Eligible Applicant Organizations:

Nonprofit, faith-based, and governmental organizations that provide food, shelter, and supportive services within the intent of the program

Past EFSP participation is not a requirement

Submit applications to the Local Board at efsp@whitmanunited.org

Access to a Unique Entity ID (generated by SAM.gov)

On April 4, 2022, the unique entity identifier used across the federal government changed from the DUNS Number to the Unique Entity ID (generated by SAM.gov).

The Unique Entity ID is a 12-character alphanumeric ID assigned to an entity by SAM.gov.

The DUNS Number has been removed from SAM.gov as part of this transition.

Must have a Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN)

Maintain a checking account in the organization’s name for EFSP deposits
-
Pay vendors directly within 90 days for services provided

Submit required reports

Provide all Non-profit documentation as requested in the application.
Any agency awarded funds that participated in the EFSP in the past and has outstanding compliance exceptions must resolve them before the release of funds.
