Introducing UWWC Executive Director, Deanna Bren!

Deanna Bren looks forward to increasing UWWC’s impact on the health, education, and financial stability of those who make Whitman County their home. Deanna has a strong background in nonprofit leadership and is excited to bring that experience to the United Way of Whitman County.

She graduated from EWU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies and worked in promotions for The Spokesman-Review as well as the Communications Director for The Salvation Army in Spokane, WA.

Deanna was a founding member of a large educational co-op in Moscow, ID, and most recently served as the Executive Director of Festival Dance & Performing Arts. Deanna’s nonprofit leadership was instrumental in helping the organization weather the pandemic. She fought to keep programming alive, helped the organization stay steady in its mission and funding, and contributed to new growth in services with fully in-person programming this past year.

Deanna enjoys floral arranging, kayaking, training her Labradoodle—Hazel, and attending music and theater productions with her children during her spare time.
